Description
Honeycomb waffle piqué is a fabric with a distinct hexagonal or squared cellular surface, formed by long warp and weft floats. Unlike classic piqué (with a double-warp system) the relief here is created by a dedicated waffle weave on a single-layer ground fabric. Raised ridges surround recessed cells, giving the fabric its unmistakable look.
The three-dimensional structure traps a lot of air and offers a large surface area — the fabric feels soft and voluminous, dries fast and absorbs moisture very well. Typical uses are kitchen towels, spa and wellness waffle towels, lightweight bathrobes, kitchen and waiter's aprons as well as golf polo shirts. Weights usually range between 180 and 400 g/m².
