Pinpoint Oxford

Fine variant of Oxford cloth using equally thin yarns in warp and weft, producing a uniformly dotted surface.
Description
Pinpoint Oxford is the finer, more tightly woven sister of classic Oxford cloth. Both use a 2×1 basket-weave variant in which two warp threads run together over and under a single weft. In Pinpoint, however, very fine yarns (typically Ne 80/2 to Ne 100/2) of equal count are used in warp and weft, so the interlacing points appear as tiny dots — hence the name.
The result is a smoother, denser and slightly more lustrous fabric than classic Oxford, sitting between poplin and Oxford. Thread counts are 60-90 threads/cm; weights around 110-140 g/m². Pinpoint counts as an upscale business-shirt quality: dressier than Oxford, more textured than plain poplin.
Typical uses are men's business shirts, corporate shirting and premium blouses. The dense weave gives crisp edges, good pressability and long durability. Usually made from mercerised, long-staple cotton.
