Description

Polyester twill is a twill weave from polyester filament or staple. Usually constructed as 2/1 or 3/1 twill with thread counts of 60-140 threads/cm and weights of 80-180 g/m². The diagonal wale is clearly visible. It is a woven fabric.

The fibre choice makes polyester twill crease-resistant, dimensionally stable and colourfast — advantages over cotton twill. Colour is added at filament production (solution dyed) or as piece dye. Finishes: antistatic (for uniform blouses), water repellent (DWR), peach-skin finish.

Uses: blouses (classic business or uniform blouse material), linings (jackets, coats, backpacks), corporate wear, budget suit trousers, ties (cheaper segments). Also bedding and sofa covers. Advantages: easy care, machine-washable at 40 degrees, low cost. Disadvantages: warmer than cotton in summer, static charge, poor breathability. For sport blouses often paired with Coolmax®-type channels for moisture transport.
