Description
Cotton touch is not a specific fibre but a hand characteristic: polyester or polyester-blend fabric is treated through fibre choice (microfilaments below 1 dtex), specific crimping and finishing (peach finish, silicone softener, enzyme wash) so it feels like premium cotton — soft, matt, breathable, without the synthetic cool and shiny impression.
Technically this is achieved through enzymatic after-treatment (bio-wash with cellulase for cotton content or dedicated PES enzymes) and mechanical softening in the tumbler. Fabrics are often additionally treated with hydrophilic finishes to absorb moisture better and give the wearer a less „plastic“ impression.
Uses: sport and leisure polyester shirts that combine the benefits of synthetics (shape stability, quick drying, colour fastness) with cotton comfort; softshells with cotton-feel face; promotional textiles for sweaty occasions. Care: 30-40 °C, no fabric softener needed, low tumble. Cotton touch diminishes over time with strongly alkaline detergents.
