Unbrushed sweat circular knit with visible loops on the inside, breathable and lightweight.
Description
Loop back is a circular sweat knit whose reverse side shows uncut loops from a separate binder yarn. Unlike classic sweat with a brushed inside, loop back leaves the pile untouched, preserving the characteristic loop structure. The base is usually a single jersey with an added binder thread, run on three-thread circular machines at 18-22 gauge.
Typical weights range from 240 to 320 g/m² and the material is mostly ring-spun cotton (80-100%) or cotton-polyester blends. Loop back dries faster than brushed sweat, is significantly more breathable and looks premium. The loops feel soft against the skin without the pilling tendency of brushed interiors.
It is used for premium sweatshirts, hoodies, tracksuits and loungewear in the athleisure segment. Brands such as Reigning Champ, Sunspel and Rag & Bone use this quality for their high-end sweats. Wash at 30 °C, turn inside out, avoid the tumble dryer to protect the loops.
